On Monday 12-19-16 just before midnight, Tanker 59 was dispatched to the 1400 block of Hillsdale Road in Londonderry Township for a reported chimney fire with possible extension into the attic. Tanker 59 responded shortly after dispatch with 2 firefighters. Engine 54 arrived on the scene and reported smoke showing from a 2 story single family dwelling. Chief 54-2 assumed command and requested the 1st alarm assignment be dispatched, bringing Engine 59-1 with 6 firefighters to the scene. Tanker 59 and Engine 59-1 staged and sent manpower forward to assist crews with fire extinguishment and overhaul. Crews were rotated in to finish checking for and extinguishing any additional fire extension in the walls. The fire was marked under control at 00:21. Company 59 crews continued to operate until being released by command at 01:29.
